I, Joan Boryta, began painting in New England with oils before watercolor won me over. My work has taken me through ten years living in Barbados, two artist fellowships in southwestern Ireland (Cill Rialaig), and my home studio in Southern California. Along the way, my work has received five Massachusetts Cultural Council awards, entry into the New England Watercolor Society gallery, and features in three watercolor books.
